A State of Siege

In this case, the words "Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life (for my sake) will find it" are interesting. This verse is similar to the verse that the vine stick must abide on the vine in order to bear fruit. In this life that we have within us, we are ready to sacrifice ourselves, but Christ says we will lose it. For example, from the current war that is being planned and is coming up, it seems to us that it will bring who knows what. But for heaven, this war is the same as two people on the street banging their heads. This great power may have said something, that great power may have said something else, but all this cannot add a single inch to our growth. Because everything that is happening around you and what you see and hear - mobilization, various preparations, weapons - does not solve absolutely anything. Wars in the world are for sinful people. And we should not hinder a Divine plan, because those people who are now going to kill each other, have their karma, and when God sends punishment, we should not hinder that.

I would tell you a lot, but I see that you are afraid when you should neither be afraid nor think about yourselves, because what is happening now is mathematically definite and if you want to know, it is accelerated by one year. All these things that are happening, must happen because they are a step for the work of God.

The world has been in a situation under siege for 75 years, and in 1897 an ultimatum was given to this world from heaven, and this ultimatum expires in 1914. However, Turkey made a mistake and turned out not to be ready to do God's will, so it will receive its retribution. It has committed many atrocities, but in the meantime, the peoples under its rule must now be given freedom. You should not be afraid in your minds, because by doing so you are hindering the work of God. These sufferings, which you will now begin to see in the event of the impending war, are physical sufferings, not moral sufferings, which only embitter Heaven. Because we may enter the Kingdom of God without one foot, without one hand, but if moral suffering jumps out at us, then we are in great danger. So I want to say that the body must be sacrificed for the development of the soul.

And here comes Christ. He is in Bulgaria. And He is the One who is directing this work. The provision of the invisible world will depend on the behavior of the Bulgarian people, on the behavior of the Slavic element in general. You only need to cooperate in your minds, so that you can help.

Finally, even if we leave and go out of our houses a year or so earlier, we have nothing to lose, because we should not be so attached to matter that we think it is everything. If we are still here, you should know that there are our brothers, whom we should help. And since Slavdom represents a better element in itself, it has the favor of Heaven, although it also has two great vices - fornication and drunkenness. However, virtues abound in its soul, which interest its spirit friends.

Then, it should not happen, it will be a mistake to suggest that Bulgaria can become a great country, because, when reading the history, I am asking where are Persia, Rome, etc.? Were they not great countries as well? So, if Bulgaria, with its future greatness, wants to glorify the name of God, then there will be favor from above. If the Heaven is not with a certain nation, all its power and army are in vain. Such a nation needs one mind, and that mind is the Lord, and if we go with His plan, we must do everything we can to keep this nation from intoxication.

That is why all those, who know the Lord, must say deep in their hearts, "Lord, let Your will be done." Let us stick to the Lord, because He is the Commander-in-Chief, before Whom you will report in a few years' time. Therefore, a consciousness must be born in your soul to serve the Lord. You should all be grateful to the Lord for what He gives you, and we do not know exactly what we need. A smart person is one who uses every opportunity in life and thanks Heaven for everything. All desires that spoil our peace, our spiritual balance, especially now, must be subordinated to the Lord. Because Bulgaria is currently 35 years old, so it bears two crosses (35 = 3 + 5 = 8, that is 2 x 4) and if it endures, that will become its great asset.
