Annex to the Protocol of 1911

1 January 1911, Veliko Tarnovo, meeting in the home of Mr. A. Boynov.

There is always a desire in God to reveal Himself to us, but we remove Him with our desires and other [actions], i.e. we create a barrier.

The gospel gives one rule: first, in order to see God, one needs a pure heart.

It will be bad to wait for another reincarnation to correct yourselves; do not leave your lessons to learn them tomorrow.

7 January 1911, Veliko Tarnovo

Religion is a fruit of the Love that man has for God.

We must learn the law of self-denial.

Every morning we wonder what to cook, but we never wonder what food to prepare for the soul.

Fasting should be understood in three ways: fasting from bread and water, fasting from bad desires, fasting from bad thoughts.

Veliko Tarnovo, before the meeting.

This year's invitations to the meeting were distributed very early compared to other years - at the end of June, St. Peter's Day. Apart from this peculiarity, the invitations differed from the others in that their content was different - it was longer and the meeting was not called a "meeting" but a "congregation".

The journey of the friends from their place of residence to the congregation in Tarnovo, as it became clear after their arrival, was without any obstacles for everyone. For many of them, for example, residents of Burgas, this trip was even a great pleasure, because the sea was calm, as smooth as a mirror. Those who had crossed the Balkans, such as residents of Kazanlak and some others coming from southern Bulgaria, also boasted about the pleasure of the trip.

Although this summer was humid, because it was raining almost every three or four days, from 4-5 August the sky became clearer to the extent that no clouds could be seen anywhere - the atmosphere was clear everywhere. So this not only contributed to a pleasant trip, but also brought good weather at the opening of the congregation.

We will see further down how things have developed in this regard.
