Only Bread

A person will first go through the state of a nail, then will turn into water, and when he learns this lesson, he will pass into an airy state. He will be sent through the blacksmith's bellows, so he will learn this lesson as fire. He will continue to move from lower to higher state until he reaches liberation. These are symbols that, by revealing and translating them, you will explain them to yourselves.

The nail is physical life. Water is the astral life, air is the mental life and fire - the spiritual life.

If you work for your livelihood and for earthly goods, you are a nail. You will work in the field. The hoe, with which you will dig, is a nail.

The human soul is never tainted. God has dressed her with so many veils. She will truly suffer when she is dresses in rags, like that king's daughter who was forced to walk in beggar's clothes. When she is brought into a state of begging, she will get rid of all those flatterers who have restrained and constrained her, and at the same time she will know those who love her. In poverty a man gets to know who his friends are, but in wealth you will find the enemies.

If you want to know who your friends are, be poor and you will find at least one, but maybe two, three or more. The poor man is sent to guess who his friends, brothers and sisters are.

Why do you have to be a student? - To find a teacher, to find your classmates. Why do you have to be a mother? - To find your sons and daughters. And you have to be a son to find your father and mother. Do not think that everything in the world is out of place. You will be both rich and poor; both a student and a teacher. There are different types of poverty. It is not the poor the one who is healthy and has all their limbs in place, but the crippled, the blind, the one without arms and legs. (Someone calls out: We do not know how happy we are.) If everyone constantly thought they were happy, you would soon be rejuvenated. (Someone calls out: What if sugar becomes expensive?) You will not drink tea, you will drink hot water. God has given man to eat only bread, and man has the right to demand only that, but everything else is at His discretion. Drink warm water! Cold water causes harshness and cruelty to man. It shows that a man lives a secular life. You should hang out young people with young people. If the young hangs out with the old, then the young one should take a cart and harness his horse, to give a ride to the old one. When a person understands the Divine ways, he begins to rejoice. If a philosopher meets a poor man, he will begin to explain to him the reasons for poverty under the laws of karma - you have been such and such in the past. I will tell him: You have to be poor to learn who your friends are. These are the main features, and the others are a shadow.

Why should I be poor? To find your friends because you need them. To find the Lord, we must be poor. The rich man cannot find the Lord, he is like a loaded camel, which, when it comes to the needle's eye, has to be unloaded.

The poor man in one respect is the one who has emptied his barns for the new wheat and washed the barrels for the new wine. Nowhere in Scripture is it said, "Blessed are the rich." The rich cannot be blessed, it is the law. And why cannot the rich be blessed? How can he be blessed when he is surrounded by enemies on all sides: his children and relatives, they all want his death to get to his estate. Can he be blissful in this situation?

When a king walks around, he is surrounded by soldiers front and rear, he is a prisoner who proudly endures his voluntary imprisonment.

There are two types of prisoners in the world: voluntary and forced ones. The king, walking around the city, fears for his life; his subjects throw roses along the way, but he is afraid they may throw bombs at him.

Unlike the voluntary prisoner, the rich man would not want to be released from his prison; even when the door is opened for him to flee, he does not give up on it.

In a way, the rich man is free in the physical world, but in the spiritual world he is limited. The poor man here is limited, but in the spiritual world he is free.

It is not bad that we are rich or poor. The rich are smart and free. When the Kingdom of God comes, there will be no poor and rich, so if you have knowledge, you must use it for the good of your neighbor.

Christianity does not preach poverty, but it preaches avoiding dishonest and improper enrichment.

The rich man is such to acquire knowledge, while the poor man - to acquire virtues.
